LAUTECH VC Orders Immediate Reversal of Late Registration Surcharges

In a significant move welcomed by many students, the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has ordered the immediate reversal of the ₦500 daily surcharge previously imposed on students for late registration.

The announcement, made public through a statement issued by the Public and Alumni Relations Unit, signals a swift response by the university leadership to the concerns raised by students over the financial burden of the surcharge.

According to the release, Professor Kalilu emphasized that the payment should be stopped forthwith, highlighting the administration’s commitment to student welfare and responsive governance.

The statement, signed by Mr. Lekan Fadeyi, the head of the university’s Public and Alumni Relations Unit, confirms that this decision takes effect immediately, ensuring that students will no longer be required to pay the controversial late registration fee.

This development has already sparked positive reactions across the student body and reflects a more compassionate approach from the university leadership during an economically challenging period.
